Devon Rexi are an Amsterdam-based group creating dubby, playful alternative electronic music. Their 2024 mini-album Biya Ba Man explores the band’s special brand of post-punky psych-funk, killer dub-punk with pitch-shifted vocals intertwined with distorted grooves, propelled by percussion and bass. Devon Rexi say they do not write songs, because they are groove people and it is within the grooves of their tracks that lies their biggest strength, elevating them into delicious moments of undeniability. Involved in the close-knit scene around Amsterdam label South Of North, Devon Rexi have a collaborative and communal spirit that is clearly heard in the fruitful, joyful tracks they play together.
