Adrián de Alfonso is on an uncompromising musical journey that morphs between noise and song. He has released and toured extensively under his former alias Don The Tiger (signed to Crammed Discs in 2018), has long been part of Carla Bozulich’s live bands, has played with groups such as Bèstia Ferida, Veracruz, Homenatges, and Capitán, and has worked with artists such as Lucrecia Dalt, Regina de Miguel, Valerio Tricoli, Lydia Lunch, Aksak Maboul, and many more.
His musical universe is deeply rooted in flamenco, copla, bolero, tango, and sardana, sources that he channels and transfigures through FM transmission, unhinged sampling/midi techniques, musique concrète outbursts, stripped-down chanting and outlandish operatic procedures.
For his FM Performance, de Alfonso uses multiple FM transmitters, occupying specific FM radio frequencies to amplify his instruments with whatever FM receiver is nearby -be it a handheld transistor, boombox, or car sound system-, allowing attendees with an FM radio to actively participate in the shaping of the music and to play with sonic phenomena such as reverberation, delay, distortion, interference, or feedback, creating an unpredictable and unique sonic context for the performance.
